Robuschi stands out as one of the main supplier of vacuum solutions. Thanks to its liquid ring vacuum pump series, Robuschi is able to offer a wide vacuum range, capable of achieving up to 33 mbar (a) and of sucking gas and vapors without contamination from lubricants and with nearly isothermal gas compression. The liquid ring vacuum pump series assures reduced water consumption, low noise and vibrations, minimum maintenance. The range includes the RVS series and complete groups (KRVS, CRVS, LRVS), especially developed for the vacuum generation in different sectors.
· Absolute suction pressure up to 33mbar(a)
· Flowrate up to 4200m³/h
The main features
• RVS liquid ring vacuum pump series is able to pump gases and vapours
• The liquid ring can as well suck an appreciable quantity of water or other liquid without harming the compression process
• The liquid ring is used for sealing in the compression chamber, for lubricating and for cooling purposes
• The compression of the gas is nearly isothermal
• No lubricant is in contact with the pumped gas
• The service liquid can be separated from the gas in a liquid separator and can be recirculated either partially or entirely, after a proper cooling
• Liquid ring vacuum pumps have reduced noise and vibration
• They can be as well used as compressors for differential pressure up to 2bar(g)
Operating principle
The RVS is a single stage liquid ring pump with automatic discharge valve. The pump consists of a cylindrical element 1 wherein the impeller 2 rotates eccentrically. The impeller moves the service liquid which because of the centrifugal force, turns into a ring 3, concentric to the cylindrical element. The rotating liquid ring seals the impeller on the front and seals its blades against one another. The gas is sucked through the inlet opening 4 on the front plate 5 and it is compressed and discharged through the pump discharge opening 6 on the front plate. In order to keep the liquid ring stable, liquid is also permanently sucked into the compression chamber and is expelled together with the conveyed gas. For stable operation, the pumps must be permanently supplied with liquid, which escapes with the conveyed gas on the discharge side. That is why a separator is advisable to be installed at the pump discharge, to collect the water and recirculate back to the pump. This allows the pump to be operated with a significantly reduced supply of liquid or even without a permanent liquid supply. Steam contained in the sucked gas can condense and be separated. The condensation is accompanied by a decrease in volume, thus enhancing the pumping performance by a condensation factor > 1.
RVS/M series
The Robuschi RVS/M series consists of single-stage vacuum liquid ring pumps that are directly driven by a flanged motor with a common pump-motor shaft. Available in standard cast iron or stainless steel alloy.
• Absolute suction pressure up to 33mbar(a)
• Flowrate up to 260m³/h
• Connections 1" thread to DN65
• Electric motors 1.5kW to 7.5kW
RVS/SG series
The Robuschi RVS / SG series consists of single-stage vacuum liquid ring pumps that have their own shaft and bearings and are driven by a flanged, easily removable standard electric motor via an elastic coupling. Available in standard cast iron or stainless steel alloy.
• Absolute suction pressure up to 33mbar(a)
• Flowrate up to 460m³/h
• Connections DN40 to DN65
• Electric motors 3kW to 15kW
RVS/TM-CT series
The Robuschi RVS / TM-CT series consists of single-stage vacuum liquid ring pumps with a suction and discharge collector which smoothens out the flow and noise. They are driven by an electric motor via an elastic coupling (CRVS construction) or trapezoidal transmission belts (LRVS construction)..
• Absolute suction pressure up to 33mbar(a)
• Flowrate up to 4200m³/h
• Connections DN100 to DN200
• Electric motors 15kW to 132kW
CRVS vacuum pump groups
In CRVS groups, the vacuum pump is directly driven by the motor via elastic coupling. This ensures perfect alignment, optimum and long lasting operation. The baseframe of the CRVS is especially designed to guarantee high stiffness and low vibration. CRVS groups are implemented with pump sizes RVS23 or bigger.
LRVS vacuum pump groups
In LRVS groups, the vacuum pump is driven by pulleys and a special belt assembly which reduces the loads of the bearings while automatically maintaining tension over time. The unit adapts easily to various motor sizes without altering its exterior dimensions. With the appropriate belt transmission selection optimum pump speed can be selected, avoiding excessive energy consumption. LRVS groups are implemented with pump sizes RVS23 or bigger.
KRVS vacuum pump groups
The Robuschi KRVS range consists of single-stage liquid-ring vacuum pump on a base frame, equipped with a partial recirculation separator, or total recirculation with integrated heat exchanger for maximum water savings. With partial recirculation, water savings up to 70% can be achieved. With total recirculation there is no water consumption, thanks to the heat exchanger cooled by the secondary cooling circuit.
Special constructions
Robuschi provides liquid ring vacuum pumps in in special construction for demanding applications in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and other industries, covering the most stringent ATEX requirements with explosion proof design or closed circuit designs with special heat exchangers.
